When Should A Child First Be Seen For An Orthodontic Consultation?

I like to see children for their first orthodontic consultation at age 7 or 8. This is when the lower four front teeth have erupted or are beginning to erupt. At this stage, I am able to do an accurate diagnosis of their situation and their orthodontic needs. Depending on their needs, children start orthodontic treatment all different ages. Again, it depend on their own needs.
